Begin Again {Musical Mondays}

What is Musical Mondays?
Musical Mondays is a weekly linky party where we share a song we’re into for the week, and talk about why we like it-or why it effects us.  Anyone who links up a song and a post about that song is entered to win a big music giveaway at the end of 2012.
This week’s song:

Begin Again
by Taylor Swift

Took a deep breath in the mirror, he didn’t like it when I wore high heels
But I do
Turn the lock and put my headphones on, he always said he didn’t get this song
But I do, I do

Walked in expecting you’d be late, but you got here early and you stand and wait
I walk to you
You pull my chair out and help me in, and you don’t know how nice that is
But I do

And you throw your head back laughing like a little kid
I think it’s strange that you think I’m funny ’cause he never did
I’ve been spending the last eight months
Thinking all love ever does is break, and burn, and end
But on a Wednesday in a Cafe I watched it begin again

You said you never met one girl who had as many James Taylor records as you
But I do
You tell stories and you don’t know why I’m coming off a little shy
But I do

And we walk down the block to my car and I almost brought him up
But you start to talk about the movies that your family watches every single Christmas
And I will talk about that, for the first time what’s past is past

But on a Wednesday in a Cafe I watched it begin again…

I admit that I listened to Taylor Swift’s Red album for two weeks straight… Even though I’ve never been the biggest Taylor Swift fan.  It’s a good album, and there are lots of songs I’d like to choose for Musical Mondays-but this week I’m choosing Begin Again because I am hoping for this.
I’ve been spending the last eight months
Thinking all love ever does is break, and burn, and end
I’ve spent a lot of time not trusting.  I’ve spent a lot of time dating guys who were unattainable because I am afraid to trust in myself and others and date someone who actually wants to be with me.  I’m so used to it never going anywhere that I’m having a hard time opening up to the possibility of someone, or something that could possibly progress into something real.  I’m not sure I even know how to have a serious monogamous relationship-which is causing me a touch of panic… But I think maybe it’s time I just jump in and see where it takes me.

What is she ever gonna do when her love life goes smoothly? She'll have nothing to write about!

I absolutely love this song! Shelley is Taylor Swift's biggest fan, and I've heard this CD 1,000 times. Super choice for MM!!!! Thanks for hosting!

I love this song, and many of the others on her Red album as well! It seemed as though most of the songs on her Red album spoke pretty much exactly to where I was – recently getting over a heartbreak. And… more than the songs from her other albums. Maybe because the focus on most of the heartbreak songs from Red is that it's getting your heart broken by someone you really really wanted to stay with. Which is pretty much how I felt!

My two songs this week have been: "Already Gone" by Kelly Clarkson and "Turn Loose The Mermaids" (instrumental version) by Nightwish.

I believe as long as Taylor writes songs about her exs' then she will never find the guy for her, that and she needs to get out of the spotlight to do so. I haven't listened to any of her songs from her new album, I even skipped listing to this one but I know how you feel. I went through the same thing two years ago. I had a horrible relationship which cause me to lose two of my greatest friends. When I finally ended I took a look at myself. I realized that I was in no shape to date/see/do *stuff* to a guy, so I took 6 months to myself. During that time I soul searched what guy I would want, what guy would want me, what I can do to get the *the* guy. I even fast TV/movies/shows for a month so that I didn't media in douse men. I could clear my head and really think about what I need to do and was willing to do. Also note, I am a christian. I looked to the bible and church for my answers. I did t o n s of prayer.
I know it's not much help but I hope this gives you some ideas and stuff to think on.

It sure is a good thing that this girl has LOTS of breakups to write about because she is one heckofa songwriter. I'd love her to find love as long as the songs don't end. LOL

I need to start dating period. At least you're getting out there. Now just to go for the right guys :)

I have the Red album and haven't listened to it yet. I need to!
