Hey, hey, hey-it’s May! April sure flew by didn’t it? Wowza. Well, I’m excited for the May 12×30 Challenge because it’s all about doing for others-it’s time for the Random Acts of Kindness challenge? Are you on board? You really should be!
This challenge is a year-long challenge with a new theme each month hosted by myself and Chasing My Extraordinary. Read about the entire challenge HERE.
There are so many ways you can do random acts of kindness, you can spend a lot, or spend a little, or spend nothing. Here are some ideas for you:
These random acts of kindness wont cost you anything:
Leave someone you love a little happy note.
Leave a random stranger a little happy note-somewhere like in a book at the library, taped under a table at a restaurant, etc.
Feature another blogger or shop on your blog for free-just to help spread the word.
Donate unwanted toys/clothes/books/blankets, etc. to local shelters.
Organize a charity event with your friends or group. You could do a food/clothing drive, schedule a day to go volunteer, anything!
Make an effort to smile and/or compliment people you see daily.
Donate blood/plasma.
Start recycling.
Help a stranger return their cart-this is especially awesome for the elderly or moms.
Leave happy notes on bathroom mirrors-like these.
Print out a free compliments sheet so people can take what they need.
Clean a friend or family member’s house when they’re not expecting it.
Leave change/a dollar in an envelope on a vending machine for a random stranger.
Buy a coffee for the person behind you in line at the coffee shop.
Donate food to the local food bank-they actually struggle most in the Summer!
Hide a dollar in the dollar store or dollar section.
Make a home-cooked meal for a sick or stressed neighbor/friend.
Buy a meal for a homeless person.
Bake a treat and drop it off to someone out of the blue.
Leave laundry detergent & some quarters at the laundry mat.
“Ding Dong” ditch your neighbors.
Drop a few coins in parking meters that are low.
Leave your mail carrier a small note/treat thanking them.
Slip a few dollars into the case with a Netflix return and a note saying snacks are on you!
Pay for a stranger’s meal at a restaurant.
Leave a gift card or cash in a book at a bookstore to cover the cost of the book for the person who buys it.
Make a bunch of “Blessings Bags” for the homeless and keep them in your car.
Bring flowers to the elderly at a local nursing home.
Donate pre-paid phone cards to the local women’s shelter.
Donate new or handmade blankets to the children’s ward of the local hospital.
Send someone something off of their wishlist in total secrecy.
Put together a “Dinner’s On Us” basket for a needy family you know.
Leave your server or pizza guy an extra big tip.
Have a RAOK date night (even if it’s just with a friend). Great ideas HERE.
Take your kids on an RAOK adventure all over the city. Great ideas HERE.
Do random acts of kindness in the memory of people to spread awareness-like THESE.
Make RAOK art and leave it for people asking them to Pay it Forward.
Encourage others to continue the RAOK cycle with these adorable punch cards.
Share a list of your favorite RAOK ideas.
Go on a RAOK adventure (like the date night or kids day listed above) and document it.
Take photos of the RAOKs you do through the month and share them.
Write about a time when someone did an RAOK for you and what it meant to you.
Write about how doing RAOKs for people makes you feel.

I love this months 12×30 challenge! I can't wait to see what everyone does!
What a great list of ideas. I'm in total agreement that we all need to be kinder to one another. I'll start with a few from this list.
I totally missed a couple months there on the 12×30 challenge, but I'm back on board now! I love this, and after being the recipient, it's time to pay it forward!
