Hello loves! Tomorrow is Halloween and I could not be more excited. I’m leaving work early today and Bub and I are going to head up to Kristina’s house for the holiday. Please keep your fingers crossed that Bub does okay, it will be his first big adventure with a lot of people, kids, and another dog… I think it’ll be fun though. This year I’m a witch.
Today at work we’re having a Halloween potluck and I stayed up late making Zombie Finger Cookies. I snagged the recipe from Sweetambs. By the time I went to bed I was too exhausted to try them, so here’s hoping they taste good… I’ve never made a shortbread style cookie before, and they seem dry… But we’ll see. They sure look awesome though. So grotesque.
Today I joined Natalie from Cosmos Mariners and some other fun travelers for a group post on Haunted Places Around the U.S. I wrote about my experience with the Shanghai Tunnels (The Portland Underground) and a little bit of it’s chilling history. You should check it out, maybe you’ll find a haunted place you want to visit!
I’m also being interviewed on Classy, Sassy, and a Bit Smartassy today. I’m talking about blogging and our community.
Last week we had the Cause for Paws Utah Howl-O-Ween benefit. I”ll be posting my photos here soon and talking about it, but you can also see some of them on the CFPU Rescue web site I created the week before that. Our old one somehow ate it (well a volunteer disappeared with all our log in details and everything) so I just created a new one from scratch. I also made from-scratch chocolate chip cookies for the event that were AMAZING. Also look at my adorable Halloween tablecloth:
Last weekend found me at Julie’s Halloween party. It was a lot of fun to hang out with everyone and it was really funny that Jon and Meggy decided to dress as Doose and Julie for Halloween. Of course Thorbie was the cutest little dinosaur ever.
Anyway, for the next two evenings I plan to fill it with bonfires, good food, fantastic people, and a lot of booze.
How are you spending your Halloween?
