Well folks, I have another fabulous Saturday Spotlight interview for you, and this time it’s the absolutely gorgeous Jenna LeeAnn. This girl is a young college grad with a passion for fashion, and she has the chops to prove it! She’s been working on fashion since 2012 and she knows how to work it, and how to see herself around the big fashion events.

How did you get started blogging over at your blog, Jenna LeeAnn?
I started blogging when I opened up my online clothing boutique as a way to connect with my customers and show them different ways to style the clothes. Then, I expanded it after my clothing line and decided to personalize it with a touch of my life and style! It’s really amazing to be able to publish your work and share your hobby with an audience. Right now I’m a manager at Nordstrom, which helps me to stay on top of trends, but, it also keeps me super busy. I recently moved to Nashville and I can’t wait to start filming in new spots for my blog!
What inspired your love of all things fashion?
I have always loved shopping, ever since I was a little girl. My mom used to take me shopping every season to Limited Too, and then Abercrombie and Fitch once I got a little bit older. One day, I asked my mom what she wanted to be when she was growing up, and she said “a buyer”. I had no idea what that was at the time, and when she explained it, I could hardly believe you can be paid to shop! Ever since I realized that there are so many career paths in fashion, I stuck with it. Before I knew it, friends would ask me for fashion advice…and right then and there, I knew I had something going.
You sold your first clothing line when you were young, how was that?
I grew up in a family full of entrepreneurs. When I knew I wanted a career in fashion, I decided to pick a goal and stick my mind to it. I opened my first LLC when I was 19! I sold my first clothing line, working with designers from LA and attending fashion shows in NYC. It was the most amazing experience ever! It started to get to be too much to handle while in college, so once I sold the line, I decided to just focus on my blog. I would love to do it again someday!
What was your favorite fashion event you have attended? Tell us about it.
I loved the FAME fashion show that I attended at the Javits Center in NYC. It gave me a chance to see all of the upcoming styles and really get a sneak peek for what to expect in the future. It was so cool to see the designers and their work.
If you had to pick one clothing staple that every girl MUST have in her wardrobe, what would it be and why?
V-Necks of all color. It is the easiest way to make an outfit in a rush! You can dress it up for work with a blazer, or dress it down with some boyfriend jeans and sneakers. You can go SO many different ways with just a simple nice fitting tee.
If you had to pick one piece of popular fashion to ban forever, what would it be and why?
Birkenstocks. I’m sorry, please don’t hate me for this one… I just don’t get it! Not my style at all.
What decade/time period had the best fashion in your opinion, and why?
I love the 70’s. I love the hippie look, and I’m really sad I missed it! I also miss 2005 when a tank and jeans with a cardigan was the most fashionable outfit on the market… Talk about comfortable!
What advice would you give to someone who is trying to be more fashionable?
Find what fits you. Don’t wear something because everybody else is wearing it. Every piece fits each body differently. Also, don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone… You might find that you actually like it, and so might everyone else!
