Today I want to introduce you to a blogger I’ve known for a while now, who is also my fantastic Coffee Date for the month of November. That’s my feature sponsor there on the sidebar if you’re not aware. I took some time to interview her so we could all get to know her a little bit better, and she’s being even more amazing and offering a giveaway for two gift cards!
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED BLOGGING AT WIFE MOMMY ME?
I was a silent blog reader for a handful of blogs and then when we decided to grow our family, I thought I would document the experience. I remember thinking “no one is ever going to read this” but I soon discovered that there are a lot of Moms like me out there that use their blogs to share their lives with others and to document their growing families.
WHAT KIND OF THINGS DO YOU HAVE COMING UP FOR YOUR BLOG?
Last year was the first year of my Christmas themed photo challenge and I’m continuing it this year and it’s a simple way to document the holidays on Instagram. I’m also joining a handful of other bloggers for a 2015 Blogging Recap and I’m excited to see how much I’ve grown in twenty fifteen and to share what I’ve learned and discovered in the blog world. In the new year, I have a handful of new things I’m going to try but you’ll have to come check out the blog for all those details in 2016.
DO YOU COOK A BIG THANKSGIVING DINNER? WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE RECIPE?
I still go home to Mom and Dad for Thanksgiving. While my cooking skills have grown, they are no where Thanksgiving worthy so I’ll let the experts stick to what they do best. I love the basics: rolls, mashed potatoes, corn and mac and cheese. I could totally careless about the turkey. I basically eat like a 3 year old.
CHRISTMAS IS COMING-AND FAST. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR THE HOLIDAY?
While I try to respect the turkey, I usually wait until Thanksgiving evening to put up our tree and our decorations. I keep our decor simple and manageable. I do have a little one in the house who likes to investigate so I can’t do too much without having little hands into everything. Shopping is hit or miss with me. Some years I do all my shopping online, other times I’m in the trenches with the mall/Target shoppers. We don’t have a big family so shopping it pretty simple and my husband James lets me pick out most of the gifts for others.
DOES YOUR FAMILY HAVE ANY FUN HOLIDAY TRADITIONS?
Does Elf on the Shelf count? We started that 3 years ago and I think I’m going to do it this year but on a smaller scale since Connor is in preschool and Kringle, our elf, won’t have a lot of time in the mornings with Connor. I started buying ornaments for my husband and I and then when we had our son so I’ll purchase 3 new ornaments to add to our growing collection.
IF SANTA COULD LEAVE YOU ONE THING UNDER THE TREE, WHAT WOULD YOU WANT?
A metabolism. But since that’s not likely going to happen, I’d love some more Lularoe pieces. I’m obsessed with their leggings and Ermas and want enough to wear them daily. Sounds reasonable, right?
IF YOU HAD ONE PIECE OF ADVICE FOR PEOPLE TRYING TO GET READY FOR CHRISTMAS, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
You are going to stress so just embrace it. Try to minimize your to do list by tackling a thing or two each week or even daily. And don’t over commit to anything. If you hesitant to say yes, then the answer should probably be no. Enjoy the holidays because they only come once a year and you only have that one day to make memories.
