Hello everyone! Tomorrow is Christmas eve, and I’ll be spending the next couple of days with my family so I’ll be taking a small break away from the blog. I’ll still check in on social media, so keep up with me there (especially on Instagram where I am @MySoCalledChaos). I’m also going to leave this post up for you to enjoy for the next few days, in case you want to access it and play the playlist through your speakers.
I get tired of the same old holiday songs. I mean I love them, but there are some years when I’m just not feeling like listening to Christmas music at all, and to get myself into the mood I need to shake it up with some kind of unique holiday album. I’m also not super religious, and while I’ll still listen to songs like Silent Night and feel nostalgic for the Christmases of my youth, they just don’t resonate with me anymore.
I have a few holiday standby albums-ones I know I can put on and listen nearly all the way through and still love. My ultimate favorite holiday album is Winter Songs, which is a sort of modern “cafe” style playlist where artists have covered traditional and non-traditional songs. I’ve included a few in the following playlist, but if you’re in the market for a good all around album that’s the one I recommend in it’s entirety.
Otherwise, check out My Favorite Christmas Albums for a complete list of albums I listen to each holiday season.
Or you know, enjoy this playlist I’ve put together for you here.
My Non-Traditional Holiday Playlist
Hope your holiday is very merry, and nothing but bright, and that you spend it with the people who matter most. Feel free to play this playlist all season long-I’m happy to share. 😉 If you click on the menu button in the video above (top left corner) it’ll show you a complete list of songs that are included, and allow you to skip or change songs as needed.
