It’s been a few months since I shared some actual photography-related stuff, and I still have photos from last Spring at Wheeler Farm to share. Wheeler Farm is a functioning farm that is located within the city, and not only do they actually run like a farm, but they offer all sorts of other stuff there too. I always enjoy a visit, and it’s great to get out and feel a little nature. I also love the Wheeler Farm Farmer’s Market that they run on Sunday mornings during the Summer. It’s always a blast.
Wheeler Farm has this big pond for all of the ducks and geese to enjoy their time in. It’s really pretty with clean flowing water coming in, a wide bank for them to rest on, and lots of different rocks where they can perch and keep an eye on things. The pond is fenced all around it. This is a great thing for the birds, as it keeps them safe from any wandering dogs or humans who may want to pay the birds more attention than they’d like. A big fenced pond allows them to let down their guard a little and rest in the relaxing waters.
Being able to spend a little time standing outside the of the pond is incredibly relaxing as a human as well. There is something about the birds floating lazily or bobbing their little heads in and out of the water that feels peaceful. It kind of makes you want to be a bird. How nice would it be to just float about all day? Dreamy.
It’s been a while since I made it down to Wheeler Farm, and for that matter, since I took my camera out shooting. I really need to make some time for both of those things, and soon!
