You’ve probably heard the name LuLaRoe tossed around and/or gotten random invites to parties and groups from leggings-savvy friends. If you’re anything like me, this may have initially left you with the mixed thoughts of “What on earth is this LuLaRoe business?” and “Oh no, not another MLM that all my friends are going to try and get me to sign up for…”
You guys. I was going to say I don’t know why it took me so long to jump on the LuLaRoe bandwaggon-but I do. It was that last sentence in the paragraph above. In fact, it was a year or two ago that one of my friends messaged me on Facebook to talk to me about trying on a few LuLaRoe items and letting her snap a few pictures to use-but it never worked out. I’ve been hearing about these LuLaRoe Leggings for quite some time now, and finally bit the bullet and ordered a few pair… Then many more…
About LuLaRoe
LuLaRoe is a company that was started by a single mom of 7 who just wanted to be her own boss, and then she realized she needed other people to help her expand and grow the company and she looked for consultants to represent her brand. They sell more than amazing buttery soft leggings. There’s also dresses, shirts, skirts, and more! I mean the LuLaRoe Leggings are where my true obsession lies, but I wont deny that the other stuff is good too. I mean I’m so in love with the Perfect Tee-which is the most flattering shirt I’ve ever owned and totally long enough to wear with leggings.
And no, this post is not sponsored. Seriously. Not even a little bit.
Different Than Your Standard MLM
Most of you know how I feel about MLMs (exasperated-seriously, everyone and their dog has one around me and Utah seems to be overly filled with them) and so I usually steer clear of them. I think that’s why it took me so long to try this one… However, this one is different. I haven’t yet met a consultant that was super pushy or annoying in any way… They don’t really have to be. There is such a following for this group that they don’t have to push it on everyone they know. It’s also a HUGE investment (we’re talking around $6K+ just to become a consultant, so not everyone and their dog can sign up.
LuLaRoe Products & Sizing
It should be first said that all of their pieces are made with comfort in mind… But comfort without sacrificing style. That’s my kind of clothing! In the photo above you can see most of their products (I left off the men’s clothing in the graphic, but they offer several styles for men like the Randy (which is pictured above) and the Patrick tee, and the Mark Henley tee. I also didn’t include a couple of kids shirts-the Sloan tee and the Gracie tee. There’s so much cute stuff for everyone in the family.
LuLaRoe Sizing
One thing I love about LuLaRoe is that they offer a wide variety of clothes in a wide variety of sizing. You’re not out-of-luck if you’re curvy, but they don’t just cater to plus sizes like some of my other go-to shopping locales. They pretty much have all of the women’s clothing in sizes XXS-3XL now, and some of their things can even be worn if you’re larger than 3X or 24. It just depends on the item.
For example, it’s widely-known in the LuLaRoe community that you size down 1-2 sizes on Irmas and Carlys, but you have to size up on Randys for a good fit. Other tops, like the Perfect T (a favorite of mine-I’ll show you why in a moment) can be sized up or down depending on how you want to wear it. Want a snug fit? Go down a size. Want a loose tunic feel? Go up! It’s kind of wonderful actually.
LuLaRoe Leggings
If we’re talking about what LuLaRoe is most known for, then it HAS to be the leggings. Everyone wants the leggings-and there is such a cult following on them that many who wear them have a hard time buying leggings anywhere else. I’m quickly turning into one of those people… Not going to lie. They feel amazing.
Leggings Sizes & How They Work
So the main adult leggings come in two different sizes-OS and TC; but there are also a few other sizes available… Including Kids’ sizing which allows a lot of cute LuLaRoe Mommy & Me matching to be done. So. Dang. Cute.
- TC – Tall & Curvy: Covers sizes 10-24ish approximately
- OS – One Size: Covers sizes 0-12 approximately
- Tween – A size in between Kids and OS (for very slim adults or teens/tweens/larger kids)
- L/XL – Kids sizes 8-12
- S/M – Kids sizes 2T-8 (though I’ve seen people put babies in them!)
If you’re in between some of these sizes, or right on the border, congrats! You can wear both sizes! You lucky duck. 😉 If you’re at the top of the sizing, read on to see my experiences.

My First LuLaRoe Experiences
At first I was nervous to try LuLaRoe. I don’t like the idea of not being able to try clothes on, and since their leggings sizing says sizes 12-22 I didn’t figure it would work for me, a 24. But one of the consultants I was talking to said she was a size 24 and wore them comfortably so I gave it a try. I ordered two pair from the PoshMark app (an app that lets people destash their closets and sell their clothes for cash-sign up using the code NYLHB and we’ll both get $5 to spend!) and try to get them without finding a consultant to buy from.
Sizing Inconsistencies
It was those first two pairs of leggings that brought to light the controversy over sizing and LuLaRoe Leggings. There’s a whole theory that the country in which your leggings are made in defines what size they are. You’ll see plenty of women talking about how they can only wear leggings from China, or some who prefer Vietnam, etc.
It’s Not About Location
You guys, it’s not the country that matters. LuLaRoe addressed this with a video on how their leggings are made. They cut them in a giant stack (like any clothing manufacturer) and sometimes some are cut a little different. So they’re not all going to fit the same. Some patterns are stretchier than others, this also makes a difference.
I Tested The Country Theory
Seriously guys, My first five leggings went like this: Vietnam (too tight), China (Just right), Vientam (Perfect fit), Indonesia (too tight), Vientam (best fit I’ve ever felt ever.) And then all of my Halloween leggings are all made in China and some fit much better than others. It’s not the country.
What You Can Do
If you’re at the top of the sizing for LuLaRoe just talk to your consultant. Seriously. I have two favorite consultants-one measures her leggings and the other checks for the stretchiest for me first. It’s so useful!
The LuLaRoe That Started the Obsession
So it’s safe to say that experience left me a little nervous, but after being pointed to the LuLaRoe consultant who measures her leggings to let her buyers know what kind of fit they are. She has three catagories, Standard (the best fitting-how they’re supposed to fit), Snug (for those who want a tighter feel or a shorter length), and No Way No How, which basically means you’ll only fit in it if you’re at the bottom of the sizing or the smaller size but want something roomier.
So I ordered some pretty light leaf TC leggings and a 3x black Perfect T from her. The result is in my photos above-it was love! I put on that Perfect T and it was so dang flattering, and the leggings were so soft and comfortable I didn’t want to take them off. I wore that outfit nearly the whole weekend. So much so that I decided I had to have more.

LuLaRoe Unicorns – Actual Unicorns?
So, if you’re new to the LuLaRoe world you might have heard of Unicorns. If you haven’t, let me explain. They’re not actual unicorns-well, some of them are… Kind of. LuLaRoe only makes so many pieces of clothing in one print-so everything is limited edition. This causes some of the more adorable prints to become highly prized, and it can be a little bit of a competition to get your hands on them. In a lot of cases, these prints have actual Unicorns on them. I’m pretty sure LuLaRoe did that on purpose, or it was the first pair of Unicorn leggings that caused the trend.
Are Unicorns Impossible to Find?
Nope, not really. You can find some in buy/sell/trade groups, or if you have a great consultant you love she’ll help you track down your unicorns. It’s not too hard! Also, the beauty of everyone having different tastes and preferences is that the old addage “one man’s trash is another’s treasure” rings true. Some people want sushi leggings, and others are just desperately searching for that one shade of purple polka dots.
My Unicorns pictured above. I did manage to find some Sushi ones in a destash thread yay!

The LuLaRoe 2016 Halloween Capsule
So, along with having limited prints and so many cute ones, they release a capsule collection for the major holidays. This was my first holiday shopping with LuLaRoe and I had no idea it would get so crazy! Everyone is so obsessed, and I admit I got swept up in it and bought way too many out of sheer desperation. I thought I wouldn’t get any, so I started just buying whatever I could get my hands on, and then I ended up getting some of my Unicorns and now I have a ton… My loss is your gain, away a pair at the end of this post… I’m getting there I promise!
I’m Having an Online LuLaRoe Party
And you’re invited! No really, feel free to head on over and join our Facebook pre-party group where we’re talking LuLaRoe and sharing pictures and getting really excited! The party is on Tuesday, October 18th at 8PM EST. There will be a Halloween giveaway in the group during the party that my consultant is hosting, but hey… I have one here too.
How it Will Work
Kendahl, my amazing LuLaRoe representative (and the creator behind Firecracker Lacquer which you will have previously read about on the blog) who is pictured above, will add the members from my party group to her Sales group closer to the the 18th. She will load up the Facebook albums with all of the goodies she has in stock and shopping will begin at 8PM EST. The sale will run for 24 hours, giving everyone to comment Sold on the items they want, and Kendahl will then invoice you and send your goodies! I can’t wait!
